## Mining Instructions

You must have Hush v3.9.2 or greater to mine DRAGONX. Compile your own binaries (best for privacy and security) or download binaries here: https://git.hush.is/hush/hush3/releases/tag/v3.9.2 . Mining currently requires using the command-line in Linux, Windows or Mac. Mac currently requires the Hush `dev` branch of Hush. If you need binaries for Mac, ask on Telegram.

NOTE: Exact Mining Instructions for Mainnet Will Be Released on Nov 5th 2022! What follows are instructions to mine a testcoin version of DRAGONX called TESTDRAGONX, to verify your binaries work.

For Linux or Mac on the command line:

# FAQs

Below the commands `dragonx-cli` and `dragonxd` are for mainnet, will exist after launch.

For testing, commands are `hush-cli -ac_name=TESTDRAGONX` and `hush-smart-chain -ac_name=TESTDRAGONX ...` command in "Mining instructions" above.

## How many DRAGONX blocks are mined per day?

`60*60*24 / 36 = 2400 DRAGONX blocks per day`

This means 7200 DRAGONX per day at 3 DRAGONX per block.

## How many DRAGONX will exist at the first halving?

`2400 * 365 * 4 = 10512000` DRAGONX at next halving in 4 years, approximately.

## How to control how many CPUs for mining?

All cores used by default. For testing use `./hush-cli -ac_name=TESTDRAGONX setgenerate true N` to use N cores. When mainnet, use `dragonx-cli setgenerate true N` to use N cores.

## How to see miner address?

Different miner address for every block mined, like BTC. Good for privacy. Use `dragonxd -mineraddress=ADDRESS` to set same address for every block mined. Less good privacy.

## Can I use xmrig/xmr-stak/etc to mine?

Currently DRAGONX is solo mining only, no pools support it yet. So you must mine from a full node, for now.

## How do I optimize my system hardware for DRAGON RandomX mining?

Optimizing system hardware for DRAGONX is same as XMR/etc RandomX mining. Newer better CPU's will mine faster. At least 8GB of RAM (4GB x 2) is better than a single RAM slot used. Faster RAM will mine better than slower RAM. https://old.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/ has good info about optimizing your hardware.
