Currently you must either have hushd running or manually edit the script to set a version. It would be much better for the script to use an environment variable like HUSH_VERSION if it is set, then fallback to talking to hushd

Actually, hushd just needs to be compiled, not running. Since it needs to be compiled to make the release, the current behavior is fine
