It is supposedly 2 MB by default and they may set it differently based on 1gb-pages option. I tried setting to 10-100MB previously and it caused Ubuntu 18.04+ to get stuck in a login loop when using desktop GUI.
I'm not sure on recommended values for it, but Xmrig has this script, which sets it to number of processors to enable 1 GB support on linux: https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/blob/dev/scripts/enable_1gb_pages.sh
